About Suburban Pest Management

Our Story

Suburban Pest Management, a part of the Rentokil group, was established in Caboolture, north of Brisbane, in 1994.

Richard and Angela Aldridge started the company and their aim was to provide a quality pest control service to their clients, and their business grew as a result. Their first business premises were on Beerburrum Rd at Caboolture and clients came from the local area.

Their son, Tom Aldridge, started working in the business while at school. When he finished school, he started working in the business full-time and became an accredited pest inspector.

In 2011, Tom and his wife Kahlee took over the business and it has grown from strength to strength. The business moved to new bigger premises on Beerburrum Rd Caboolture in 2013. In 2024, the company merged with Rentokil Initial and the business continues to grow. In 2025, the company employs close to 50 staff.

The company has long had a reputation for quality, reliable termite solutions and pest control treatments and our customer base now extends to the whole of the Southeast-Queensland area.

Our Culture

Culture is not ‘one thing’ in our business, it’s everything. We define our culture as the experience all of our team members have when they come to work every day.
There are some behaviours and traditions we consider integral to our culture. These include:
  •  A recognition system for teams and individuals
  • We celebrate staff birthdays and anniversaries
  • We shout out when we are swamped, and we can trust the team will step in to help
  • We take responsibility
  • If we are not sure, we will say “I will find an answer”

Awarded Australian Pest Manager of the Year in 2021

Suburban Pest Management was awarded the overall winner and took the title of Australian Pest Manager of the Year 2021 from the AEPMA at the online Pest Manager of the Year & PWAPM Excellence Awards night in September 2021.

Our Customers

Our clients are spread all over Southeast-Queensland from the top of the Sunshine Coast and into the Wide Bay region, all the way south through Redlands, Logan and the Gold Coast, and out West to the picturesque Scenic Rim and locations like Ipswich, and Kilcoy.

Of course Brisbane – being the largest concentration of population in Queensland – is familiar territory. On any given day, one or more of our Technicians and Inspectors can usually be seen in SPM liveried utes driving in Brisbane suburbs.

We have many thousands of residential customers but we have many commercial customers in the Southeast-Queensland region. We have HACCP and ISO accreditations so we can handle pest management for even the most complex of sites. Our commercial customers come from many different industries, but include food manufacturing and retail, educational facilities, aged care, property management, and warehousing.

Embracing Innovation

The introduction of our AI chat bot marks a significant milestone in our commitment to harnessing technology to improve customer experience. This intelligent assistant is designed to answer a wide range of pest control questions, from identifying pest problems to providing information on our services. However, its standout feature is its ability to seamlessly book treatments directly into our calendar.

Reducing our Impact on the Environment

Using responsible pest management techniques and reducing the environmental impact is an important goal of Suburban Pest Management. Our industry is often criticised for environmental disregard, which is why we have developed treatment techniques which utilise the most advanced equipment and products to ensure that our impact is minimal.

Integrated Pest Management Approach

We use an Integrated Pest Management approach which focuses on minimising the use of pesticides whilst still controlling pests. We specialise in targeting the harbourage areas of pests, minimising the amount of pesticides used as well as ensuring that people and pets are not directly exposed. Non-chemical control methods are implemented whenever possible.
