Our Story
Suburban Pest Management is a family owned and operated business, established in Caboolture, north of Brisbane, in 1994.
Richard and Angela Aldridge started the business from their home. Richard and Angela’s aim was to provide a quality pest control service to their clients, and their business grew as a result. After a few years of hard work, they moved into the first business premises on Beerburrum Rd at Caboolture. Clients came from the local Caboolture / Bribie Island / Redcliffe and Pine Rivers area.
Their son, Tom Aldridge, started working in the business as a labourer while at school. When he finished school, he started working in the business full-time and became an accredited pest inspector.
In 2011, Tom and his wife Kahlee took over the business and it has grown from strength to strength. The business moved to new bigger premises on Beerburrum Rd Caboolture in 2013. In 2021, the company continues to grow and now employs over 40 staff.
The company has long had a reputation for quality, reliable termite solutions and pest control treatments and our customer base now extends to the whole of the South-East Queensland area.
Our Customers
With business ownership now in its second generation, our amazing clients spread from the top of the Sunshine Coast and into the Wide Bay region, all the way south through Redlands, Logan and the Gold Coast, and out West to the picturesque Scenic Rim and locations like Ipswich, and Kilcoy.
Of course Brisbane City – being the largest concentration of population in Queensland – is familiar territory. On any given day, one or more of our Technicians and Inspectors can usually be seen driving the streets of the Brisbane Northside, Southside, or Western Suburbs.
Our Core Values
We value our expertise in the industry. We are always looking for ways to improve our delivery of service and make life easier for our clients. Our technicians receive the highest level of training from experienced industry experts. They have access to the very latest in testing and monitoring technology, and management tools, and the very best products, which means they can give you quality advice on the most effective treatments. We also provide all our clients with accurate and relevant reporting.
Another of our core values is growth, both in terms of our company and our staff. As a company, we are always looking to innovate and improve efficiency by using the latest technologies available in the industry, and we encourage our staff to adopt new skills and recognise that there are always ways we can improve on how we do things.
We value loyalty in both our customers and our staff. Many of our clients have shown us great loyalty by sticking with us, and this is appreciated given how competitive the pest control industry is. A few of our customers have been with us since the very beginning and we appreciate their ongoing patronage. We value our staff and celebrate their loyalty to us - a couple of our staff have been with us for more than 15 years.
We also value support and we give back to the local community in any way we can. We support local events and clubs through donations and sponsorships.
Reducing the Impact on the Environment
Reducing the environmental impact of Suburban Pest Management is an important goal of SPM. We are involved in an industry often criticised for environmental mismanagement and disregard. That is why we have developed treatment techniques, utilising the most advanced equipment and products to ensure that our impact on the environment is minimal. We specialize in targeting the harbourage areas of the pests, minimising the amount of pesticides used as well as ensuring that people and pets are not directly exposed. Non chemical control methods are implemented whenever possible.
