In our Not-So-Fun Facts video series, we have created some fun, short, easy-to-understand videos on lots of pest-related topics. Pests covered include Termites, Mosquitoes, Wasps, Cockroaches, and Rodents. In these videos, Tom gives a whole bunch of interesting facts and breaks down myths and common misconceptions.
Episode 1 - Not-So-Fun Facts Termites
We visit an average of three properties per day with termites in the building. Termites are sometimes referred to as white ants but they are actually more related to a cockroach than an ant. Chemical soil treatments are effective because the risk of reinfestation is so high.
Episode 2 - Not-So-Fun Facts Cockroaches
Cockroaches can be nasty creatures particularly because of the hygiene issues they present. There are many species and they have been around for millions of years. They are very adaptable and they are often transported through packaging. Even the cleanest home or business can be susceptible to infestation.
Episode 3 - Not-So-Fun Facts Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes can be very annoying and can spread disease. Water containers such as buckets, pools, and tanks can all be breeding grounds for mosquitoes. At SPM, we typically treat mosquitoes with a spray to the exterior of the home and to the foliage close to the home.
Episode 4 - Not-So-Fun Facts Wasps
Wasps can be nasty creatures. Wasps are fast flyers and most active during the day so early morning, late afternoon and evening when they are back at home in their nest are the best times to treat them. Paper wasps can be aggressive and are the ones you should be most careful of.
Episode 5 - Not-So-Fun Facts Rodents
Rat and mouse activity typically increases in cooler weather. Rats appear to be one of the most feared pests we deal with at Suburban Pest Management. They do damage and they can spread disease. At SPM, we use lockable and tamper-proof bait stations which are safe to use around pets.
We deal with all sorts of pests at Suburban Pest Management on all types of properties, so please contact us if you have a pest you need us to take care of.
